Are you a club?

We are not a club, the Academy offers players and coaches the opportunity to develop their skills outside of the clubs and schools. The Academy enables players and coaches to focus on developing their individual skill sets.

What is the registration process?

All bookings can now be done using our online platform, booking and payment is required prior to attending the session.

What should I bring to the first session?

Sportswear, football boots, mouth guard and plenty of water.

Does my child receive a kit?

No. playing kit can be purchased separately, they are made to order reducing the need to bulk buy. By using a local manufacturer kit can be received within 2-3 weeks of ordering.
Sponsor logo’s no longer appear on clothing, omitting the need to regularly change kit. Players can wear items for longer and purchase new pieces when they have grown or worn out. We have designed inter-changeable kit items taking into consideration player comfort and personal preference.

Can I show up on the day or do I need to pre-register?

Pre registration is required prior to attending any session. There are low coach to player ratios, which limits the number of spaces available.

My child is a beginner, they don't play club or school rugby can they attend?

Yes. The Academy programmes are developed to cater for players of all abilities and levels. Smaller groups enable coaches to provide immediate correction and feedback to players.

What is the difference between the Skills in Schools and Skills Academy programmes?

The Skills in School programme is delivered in the after school activity period within schools across Dubai. The sessions are shorter than the Skills Academy sessions and focus on the basic skill sets required for rugby.

How are players allocated to groups?

New players are assessed over a two week period, they are then allocated to a group suited to their ability.

Will my child be in the same group as their friends?

Players are assessed over a two week period, they are then allocated to a group suited to their ability. This sometimes mean they will not be with their friends.

If a player misses a session will we receive a refund, credit or carry it forward to the following term or another programme?

Sessions are credited for injury or sickness, when supported by a medical certificate. Missed sessions cannot be credited but you will have the option to have a make up session at another venue. The make up sessions must be taken within the same term as the missed session. Please see ‘Terms and Conditions’ in ‘Resources.’

My child can't attend all sessions can I pay for the sessions they will attend?

Yes. However, it will depend on the availability of the session, preferred locations cannot be guaranteed and only full bookings can guarantee a place at any session. Please see ‘Term Fees’ in ‘Resources.’
