Apollo Perelini Rugby Skills Academy

Developing highly skilled players and coaches at all levels

Our Story

The APRSA is the brainchild of founder and former Samoan dual-code international, Apollo Perelini. In 2010, Apollo delivered the first of the skills academy programmes in Dubai, in response to the need for quality rugby skills development.

Apollo’s time as Director of Rugby and later as Director of Sport at Repton School Dubai, allowed him to recognise the significant learning ability of young children. So, what began as programmes for high school-aged players, were successfully adapted for younger age groups.

Apollo Perelini, Founder

Apollo “The Terminator” Perelini established a reputation for his hard-hitting tackles. A product of the Auckland and New Zealand rugby systems, Apollo ended a successful professional career in the United Kingdom. The transition to coaching came initially as head trainer for Sale Rugby (UK), followed by a hugely successful career at championship-winning St Helens Rugby League (UK).

Apollo recognised the critical success factor of a winning team was their consistency in executing the fundamental rugby skills. Apollo became convinced that rugby development should focus on skills and good technique.
